Camping Recipes in Scotland

Posted on Jul 01 2011 by

In America when you go camping, all you look forward to is sitting around the camp fire and eating delicious home made s’mores or hot dogs. You sit around laughing, drinking, and eating with your friends while the kids 6 and under run around and play. Well when you are camping in Scotland, they also look forward to eating delicious camping recipes. Here are some great recipes you can try when you plan on camping in Scotland.

The first recipe that is great for Scotland camping trips is called Sweetened Bananas. This recipe includes bananas and honey. What you do is put the banana over the campfire without taking the skin off. Don’t take the banana out until the skin looks a little bit dark, then cut it in half and pour some honey on it. This is a great way to enjoy your campfire and your family when you enjoy this great Scotland recipe.

The second recipe that is great for camping in Scotland is called Magic Beans. This recipe’s ingredients include smoked sausage and baked beans and crusty bread if you desire. You heat up the baked beans and sausage over the fire first and then you cut the smoked sausage up into circular pieces. After you cut the sausage, add the baked beans and mix together. Once that is finished, then you can enjoy this recipe with some crusty bread. This is a great recipe to get your family together and have some campfire fun.

The last recipe I will be telling you about is Cheesy Scrambled Eggs. This is a wonderful way to wake up in the morning while camping in Scotland. First you heat up some oil in a frying pan over the camp fire. While that is heating up, whisk as many eggs needed and then add the cheese to the mix. Pour in the pan and whisk until the eggs are perfectly scrambled. You can serve this with great morning coffee, tea, etc.

All of these recipes are really great when camping in Scotland. Your family and friends mixed with the wilderness and great food, makes the best camping trip with whoever you take.
